Ponte Vedra: A Good Draw

Site Selection consultants from seven corporations visited St. Johns County and were taken to PGA Tour headquarters in Ponte Vedra Beach. Ponte Vedra beach club area was included in the visit for the site selection consultants mainly because the Economic Development Council wanted to showcase two national headquarters that are located there, the PGA Tour and ATP Tour. The Council wanted to make sure that site selection consultants realized that they have those assets here and, of course, the Council wanted to showcase the lifestyle. Ponte Vedra is a good draw.

Many companies have already decided to relocate to Ponte Vedra beach in the past few years due to recruitment efforts. Medical Development International has moved its national corporate offices from Leesburg, Va., to 814 Florida A1A, near the entrance to the Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass. All businesses are different. Businesses look at several cities, but Ponte Vedra beach always turn up No. 1 because of its excellent schools and business environment. More than 50 employees of MDI relocated to Ponte Vedra and the medical service company, which joins physicians with hospital network and handles medical billing, is hiring locally, too.

There are regular luncheons for newcomers at Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville Beach clubs. The purpose of the luncheon is to give newcomers the opportunity to meet other people and become better acquainted with the community. An excellent way to check it out is to attend a monthly luncheon – usually on the second Wednesday of each month. The luncheon usually costs around $20 – reservation required. It is a unique initiative by “Newcomers of the Beaches” club at Jacksonville. It is a club for women new to the Jacksonville, FL Beaches area for those who have had a recent lifestyle changes such as leaving the workforce or becoming single again.
